Geese, looks really expensive! Some of those images look as if the were shot with direct positive paper on the account that there was high amounts of contrast? No flashing, and no I'm not talking about the kind found in Benny Hill's sitcoms! 🤩

I am sure you already know about two other east-Europe photographers, Aleksandras Macijauskas and Jindřich Štreit, both are widely respected by me. Jason Eskenazi also.

Great photographs! What a talent

These are great. I left Hong Kong just before he took these images. I think he captured the essence of the city quite well. I'll try to find a copy of this book. Thanks for the recommendation.

I have Annie’s ‘At Work’ and ‘Wonderland’ which I think is a much better book, despite the fact that most of the work in it being created by her assistants 🫤

Liebowitz was great 40 years ago - but after she joined Vanity Fair she became just a tableau photographer - doing big overproduced and lifeless setups that she could delegate to her staff and then just walk in and push the shutter button.

Leibovitz lost herself with fame and money, she became a product herself. Sad to me. Most of her pictures were made by her assistants.

very interesting review Borut; but a question, in this review you don't mention the asa you rate it at, I assume its around 1-3, from std wet plate discussions on UA-cam. and the light you used (ie the power, and exposure settings), to see what it takes to get these images. also, for newbies to this process how do each compare with say Kodak EkTar 100, or other relatively available negative films, esp. as far as contrast, tonality, etc.

One thought. It's about portraits. I need more food for portraits. My questionnment is: with honesty we, photographers, reveal inside of people, sometimes, we cheat, we create an illsuion of beauty. So how do you do to stay honest ? because it's difficult sometimes to say your photograph is ugly because something is wrong, is it me as photographer or model who has issue with harmony ?

To me there is a lack of emptiness, there is some weight in those photographs. They are very good but it misses a little spark. Sometimes we need yoga lessons to go beyond ourself.

I know this video is a bit dated but I wanted to know what your thoughts are on monobath type developers? I want too get into pinhole photography and was wondering if one could develop direct positive paper and also paper negatives with Cinestill DF96 like how you would develop a print from a negative? I'm sort of a newbie when it comes too developing any kind of film.

Very interesting book with an innovative design. Reminds me a little of some of the designs Dan Milnor produces. The overall design would also tempt me to use it as a journal.

It gives me the idea to print cyanotype or salt on tracing paper

Peterlin : The second books is Punk , as there is a real human element , a slice of the depth of Life , less repeat , more innovation , the frames of the bather's the girl draped on the drum her expression , the dynamism of the force of the conductor that is very emotive ... the group as a living entity and their environment , from cleaning to getting a wink of sleep , this is a story... and I must say I favor Monochrome in reportage or documentary. Yes: Excellent storytelling through images. Thanks for sharing Bro. C ~

Beautiful images. A just time captured! How long did the portrait of the children take? It looks like a short exposure time as they’re sharp (little movement). Do you have an approximate ISO sensitivity for the emulsion?

Sudek has always been one of my favorites. I feel that his photographs always require contemplation.
